Saudi Arabia lifts ban on Somalia’s livestock
Saudi Arabia lifts ban on Somalia livestock for sale, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture announced on Sunday.
Last year, Saudi Arabia block Somalia’s livestock imports claiming of animal’s health attributed to unreliable meat and lack of diagnosed and medical examination.
“The Ministry temporarily lifted the ban on importing live meat from the Republic of Somalia, with the aim of strengthening local markets with imported livestock, in line with the role and responsibilities of the Ministry in ensuring food supply.” Saudi Ministry of Environment said in a statement
The government of Saudi Arabia noted that Somalia’s livestock soon arrives in the local market, within 30 days after the end of the regular quarantine period.
