Security forces launched security operation in Dharkeyley district

At least one person identified as Al-Shabab member was arrested as security forces in Dharkeynley district launched security operation where they gathered over 500 commuters on Saturday evening.

The forces ordered hundreds of commuters to get out of the public and private vehicles they were travelling in, to perform identity parade.
the operation was jointly led by the district commissioner and his counterpart police commissioner.

Dharkeyley police commissioner speaking to the commuters has called on the commuters to work hand in hand with the police and security forces to keep the district peace and secure.

” If the public works with the security forces to eliminate Al-Shabab fighters and their sympathisers, we shall live peacefully, I urge you to forward Al-Shabab tip off so that the area remains safe and secure” he said.

On his part, Dharkeyley district commissioner, Omar Meyre Maow has warned the public not to hide Al-Shabab and its sympathisers.

” Everybody should know their neighbours and whoever they live with, to maintain and protect the security of this district. whoever found having ties with Al-Shabab will be the target of the security” said the DC.

This comes as the other parts of Somalia’s city Mogadishu witnessed series of security operations following the assassination of several public fegures including former Somali Defence Minister who was killed in car explosion last week.
