Storyline:National News

Over 100 people have been arrested in a joint security operation conducted by Somalia and AU peacekeeping mission forces in Bardhere Sunday.

Goobjoog news correspondent says that they carried out home to home search to ensure the security at all neighborhoods of the town.

“The security forces backed by African Union Peace-keeping (AMISOM) troops have combed suburbs of bardhere as they conducted door to door inspections” he said.

The forces made several arrests on dozens of individuals suspected being members of Al-Shabab organization which has recently made a number of assassinations against prominent elders in the city.

Bardhere town used to be the largest stronghold for Al-Shabab’s top officials and its foreign jihadist fighters before they fled after heavy military assault by the Somali government forces and the African Union mission in Somalia [AMISOM] mid last year.
