SNA capture head of Al-Shabab tax collector in lower Shabelle

The Somali National Army has arrested the head of Al-Shabaab tax collector in the Lower Shabelle region on Thursday morning.

The commander of the Somali National Army, Brigadier Abdi-humid Mohamed Dirir stated that Government troops were conducted security checks for the last one week to enable them to secure the area which led the arrest of Mohamed Yusuf Mansur, head of Al-Shabab tax revenue in the Lower Shabelle region.

“The operations carried by the Somali National Army in Janaalele and surrounding areas retaliated and captured al-Shabab officer in charge of extorting money from poor people in Lower Shabelle region with seven militants and now under investigation,” said General Abdi.

Government troops recently took a brave effort to liberate extremist groups and  insurgents in the Lower Shabelle region.
