SNA deputy survives, three killed in IED attack

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Three people among them soldiers and a civilian were killed in Mogadishu Sunday following a landmine attack targeting the Somali National Army deputy chief.

Sources confirmed that SNA deputy chief of staff General Abbas Amin Ali who was in the convoy along Abdi Qasim road in Hodan district survived the mid-morning attack.

The driver of an auto-rickshaw was killed alongside the two soldiers while two other people were injured. There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the militant group Al-Shabaab has upped attacks in Mogadishu and other parts of the country in recent months.
