SNA seizes new villages from Al-Shabaab in Bay region

Somali National Army has captured  Bandhub and Bilane villages near Dinsoor district from Al-Shabaab in Bay region, southwest sate.

Security officials said the operation aimed to flash out Al-Shabab militias reported by the residents who were taking money by force and killing civilians in the region lastly evacuated.

US airstrikes largely targets al-Shabab figureheads based in southern and central Somalia where the group still maintains a strong grip in some regions.

The group have recently stepped up their attacks against African Union and Somali forces especially in Mogadishu, targeting their bases, hotels and other public places.
