SNA guns down suspect while planting IEDs along Balad-Jowhar road

Reports from the town say that the security forces shot and killed a man who wanted to bury landmines outside the area Gololey 10km from the town.

One government official operating the road between Jowhar and Balad confirmed the killing of the man. Somali National Army officials said the man was carrying a pistol in his pocket for self-defence.

Al-Shabab has been making roadside bomb killing government soldiers and Hirshabelle parliamentarians recently along johar and ballad road.

Al-Shabaab which is fighting the southern part of Somalia routinely targets AU forces and government bases in the country.
