Somali Cultural Festival held in Kismayo

A colorful event which will run for a week has officially started in Kismayo, encouraging the heritage, art and Somali literature attended by many of the Somalis in Jubbaland state.

The event was addressed by Jubbaland minister for information who gave a very detailed speech about the rich Somali culture and language.

The event, which is centrally coordinated by the Ministry of information Cultural celebrates the rich and diverse culture of Somali people and the contributions they have made to the Somali culture.

There was music, dance, food, poetry and books on display.

The event is the first of its kind in Kismayo and brings together Somali writers, thinkers and entertainers to shed light on the challenges facing the community and perhaps find solutions.

The Minister of Information Ali Noor Adan spoke about Somali poetry. In addition, he raised concern about the Somali language, which he said was slowly fading.

“Our culture is a heritage, we should not neglect it,. It is a golden opportunity to creation interaction and unity. He said.
