Somali Government Airlifts Injured Citizens to Saudi Arabia

Fourteen citizens who sustained injuries from bomb blasts in Mogadishu have been airlifted today to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.

The commission appointed by the PM Kheyre to head count and assess injured individuals in hospitals around the city selected 14 patients who have been chosen from three different hospitals in the city as a result of their severe injuries and medical conditions that cannot be treated locally.

The Director of Madina Medcial hospital Dr. Mohamed Yussuf who is a member of the commission explained how the patients were selected.

“The commission appointed by the PH Kheyre is here with me in Madina hospital to do medical inspections on selected patients who are mostly injured through bomb blasts and gunfire that cannot be medically attended in the country. We selected these people who were inpatients for a period of time. Today they will be airlifted to Saudi Arabia” said Dr. Mohamed.

Additionally, the administration of Madina hospital touched on the condition of the patients who were injured in the recent attack who are said to be improving slowly.

Head of Health Service in the hospital Duniyo Ali Mohamed described their efforts of struggling with bomb blast patients in Madina hospital and predicted their quick recovery.
