Somali Government Condemns the mortar shell attack of yesterday in Mogadishu

The Somali federal government has condemned the mortar shell strikes that hit at Wadajir district of Mogadishu yesterday.

three heavy mortar shell have yesterday hit at near Halane camp in Mogadishu, causing casualties.

A press release issued by the government said such attacks will not affect the security of the capital Mogadishu.

The press release reads: –

The Federal Government of Somalia has condemned the Mortar shell strikes in the Wadajir district of Mogadishu on 1 July 2018 and sent condolences to the families of those lost in the attack and wishes the injured to be healed sooner.

The Somali Federal Government also praises Somali national army and AMISOM security forces as they respond quickly to the incident.

The Somali Federal Government reiterates that acts of terrorism will not eliminate the peace progress and the establishment of state institutions and emphasize its commitment to building a prosperous future for the country.
