Somalia condoles with Turkey over Ankara twin blasts

Somalia has sent a message of condolence to the president and the people of Turkey following yesterday’s twin blasts which have now claimed 95 lives.

“On behalf of the Government of Federal Republic of Somalia I sincerely send my sympathy to the President, Government and Nation of Turkey in the loss of innocent lives that perished in the two explosions in Ankara“said Prime Minister Sharmarke.

The Prime Minister was confident the resilience of President Recep Tayyib Erdogan, Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu, Government and the entire nation of Turkey will withstand this loss, and that they will not be dissuaded from the path of democracy.

“We, the Government of the Somali Federal Republic strongly pledge our support and loyalty to the Government and the people of Turkey particularly at this time of tragedy” he affirmed.

Turkey said the death toll in twin bomb attacks on an activists’ rally in the capital Ankara has risen to 95.

The blasts happened outside the main railway station as people gathered for a peace march.

Around 246 people are still being treated in hospital – 48 of which are in intensive care.

In a statement, the office said the investigation into who was responsible is continuing and the prosecutor’s office is working to identify the victims.
