Somali Journalist killed In Galkaayo

Young Somali Journalist Mahad Ali Mohammed killed on Sunday in Galkaayo after he went out to cover the fighting between Galmudug and Puntland state forces in the town.

The Journalist received a bullet on head and later succumbed to his injuries in one of the Hospitals in Galkaayo. Voice of  Mudug Radio director Mahad Abdi Farah confirmed to Goobjoog.

At least 15 people killed and more than 30 injured on Sunday after fierce fighting that have lasted six Hours between the two warring state forces. heavy artillery and anti aircraft rockets used in the fighting.

“Our reporter went out to cover the fighting and as result received shot on the head and died his injuries” said  Voice of  Mudug director Mahad Abdi Farah.

Mahad Ali becomes second Somali Journalist killed in 2016 after Sagal Salad Osman State Radio journalist who was killed in June this year by two assassins in the capital Mogadishu.

Somalia includes one of the most dangerous countries in the world to works as Journalsit.
