Somali man confess he is Hassan Hanafi- the wanted

A Somali man in Kenyan detention who identified himself as Yussuf Hassan Abdisalan has confessed that he is Hassan Hanafi who is wanted by Somali government for killing journalists as Kenyan officials confirmed to the media.

Hassan Hanafi was arrested earlier this month by Kenya Police and after weeks of investigations he admitted that he is Hassan Hanafi.

Kenyan government is planning to extradite Hassan Hanafi to Somalia following Federal government’s request if courts orders deportation.

Hanafi came into the country on March 14 to seek medical checkup for old wounds he got from a bombing of an airstrip in 2011.

He is a senior member of Al-Shabab, who is wanted for the killing of journalists and other citizens. The Somali government said it provided the intelligence that led to Hanafi’s arrest.
