Somali parliament speaker in Baidoa for Southwest speaker Inauguration

Somali parliament speaker, Mohamed Sheikh Osman has today arrived in Baidoa town, to attend the inauguration ceremony of Southwest Assembly speaker.

The speaker and his delegation was welcomed at the airport by Southwest leader Shariif Hassan and other officials.

Meanwhile Delegations from Jubbaland, Galmudug and IGAD are attending the inauguration.

Due to the presence of the high-level delegations, SNA troops and security forces in the town have jointly intensified their presence around the ceremony avenue increasing the number of checkpoints and patrols with fears of an imminent attack.

Other reports say President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is also expected to attend the inaugural ceremony.
