Somali president arrives Garbaharey district

The president of the republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and delegations arrived Garbaharey, the headquarters of Gedo region.

The president and his delegates were warmly welcomed at the airport by senior officials from Gedo region, SNA officials and civil society.

President Hassan is taking meetings with regional authorities and local residents to discuss wide range issues including security and the droughts that has affected the region.

This is the first visit of President Hassan to Garbaharey since he took power September 2012.
