Somali president calls peace for Alshabab

Somali president Hassan Mahamoud has sent again a peace message to Alshabab fighters in Somalia, calling them to stop the killings of “innocent citizens”.

In state television speech marked at the end of the holy month, President Hassan Mahmoud asked both leaders and ranking file members of Alshabab to lay down their weapons and back to the normal life.

“I Herby to call both leaders and ranking file members of Alshabab, to stop suicidal actions and the killings of innocent Somali citizens”

The president said,   Somali government is ready to rehabilitate those who want to denounce the radical ideology and want to back their normal social life. “We are calling them to cross the bridge, so that we can help them reclaim their normal social life” Said President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud.

Somali government previously called Alshabab for peace and offered amnesty for Alshabab defectors.
