Somalia: Federal parliament endorses fishing act

The federal parliament of Somalia has today passed fishing act in an extra-ordinary meeting chaired by the second deputy speaker of the parliament in Mogadishu.

The bill was submitted by the ministry of fisheries of federal government of Somalia.

140 members of parliament attended today’s sitting, 135 members voted in favour of the bill, two rejected while the remaining members abstained.

The passed bill was postponed severally due to lack of enough quorum.
