Somalia on Debt Plan Exemption Conference in Mogadishu

The Prime Minister of Somalia  Hassan Ali chaired the meeting agenda discussed plans about debt relief for the country attended by representatives of countries with debt from Somalia, the World Bank and the Monetary Authority.

Attendees of the conference, which is part of the Somali Co-operation Conference, praised the Somali government’s commitment to the success of the country’s debt consolidation plan.

The Prime Minister said he was clear on the country’s debt consolidation agenda that is central to all ongoing reforms, and the people of Somalia are united and eager to forgive the country as they believe that debt is for every Somali citizen’s interest for contributions to the country’s development for the future.

Hassan Ali Khayre also told attendees that Somali businessmen have paid the highest taxes, and the country’s income has increased as a result of the progress made.

The dept pardon allows the country to invest in long-term investments, it also raises domestic revenue, health and water investments in the country and opens the door to billions of dollars for development globally.
