Somaliland hopes a portion of the economic budget support declared in Brussels

Somaliland Foreign Minister Dr Sa’ad Ali Shire said Somaliland is hoping to get a share of the economy budget support declared in the Brussels conference for Somalia.

“We expect the usual proportion of Somaliland to be given for no reason to decrease or change,” said Saad Ali Shire

In the conference the EU Commission Vice-President Federica Mogherini announced that the EU will provide additional €200 million to support Somalia’s overall stabilisation to create a better future for its people,” said Mogherini.

Sweden, which co-hosted the forum with the EU also pledged to increase its funding support to Somalia up to $350 million over the next five years.

Sa’ad Ali Shire told Goobjoog News that the invention of the Berbera port, which is currently under construction with the DP World, will begin in October this year.

Minister Sa’ad also denied the visit to São Tomé, Princeton and Cape Verde, which was in the last activities of president Bihi for his first four in the office.
