Somalis in Easleigh Nairobi Concerned About the Closure of Remittances

hawalasSomalia in Nairobi has raised their concern about the closure of 13 remittance companies which they say were vital lifeline for thousands of families there.

Residents told our correspondent in Kenya Hassan Abdi that the remittances mean life to them and if closed permanently it will be devastating to them.
They pointed out that Kenya has the right to investigate any wrongdoings but has no right to deprive them of their income and livelihood.

Kenya has closed the accounts for 13 Somali remittance companies in suspicious that Alshabab gets financial assistance through them.
