Students march in Abudwak town of Somalia after school teacher murder

School teacher murder has led students, parents, and resident in Abudwak town of Galmudug to the streets on Saturday morning.  Khadar Mahmud Ahmed, has been teaching history and geography classes at Igara secondary school before he was killed by armed assailants at his home on Thursday night.

“The killed teacher originates from Borma town of Adawal region in Somaliland after assailants mistook him for belonging  another clan that they had problem with” said Mohammed Galayr who chairs Galgadud Education and Development Organizations.

Residents have managed to imprison the culprit and he is kept under home with security guards until the family of killed teacher comes to the town. Said Galayr.

“Finally, the killer is arrest by members of his own clan because they learnt he killed the teacher acting on wrong information. The family of the teacher are notified and invited to come here, and when they come here they can either take blood money or kill the man” said Mohammed Galar.

Abudwak includes of the most belligerent Somali towns with high homicide rates.
