Suspected Al-Shabaab members kidnap Four aid workers in Southern Somalia

Four local aid workers have been kidnapped in Southern Somalia by suspected Al-Shabaab gunmen.

The four were snatched on Monday evening from a vehicle they were travelling in near Golweyn village which lies 15km away from Luuq town.

The  local administration accused Al-Shabaab fighter  of the abduction of  those aid workers.

“Four aid workers of Somali nationality have been kidnapped by Al- Shabaab, they are working for WHO,” said a local administrator in Luuq town.

He said local elders are making vigorously efforts that could paved the way for the release of the kidnapped humanitarian workers.

Several attacks on aid workers, believed to have been carried out by Al-Shabaab, occurred in central and southern Somalia since Al-Shabaab ousted the control of many towns in Somalia.
