Tension remains high in Wanlaweyn town in Lower Shabelle region following clan clashes in town in the past week.

Goobjoog News correspondent in the region reports the situation in the town is relatively calm today but there is still armed movement of locals in the town.

Fighting broke out in the outskirts of Wanlaweyn town last week as militias sought control of the town.

There are ongoing efforts by the Wanlaweyn traditional elders intervene to end the crisis in the area.
