THE INTERVIEW: UNSOM official on floods situation in HirShabelle state

Over 700,000 people have been affected by the ongoing riverine and flash floods in several parts of the country with HirShabelle region adversely affected.

The UN estimates over 295,000 people in HirShabelle alone have been affected with close to half of these displaced from their homes. Goobjoog FM editor Ahmedweli Hussein spoke to Benjamin Jonah, the UNSOM head of office for HirShabelle region on the current situation and emergency relief efforts.
