August 6, 2015: Afgoye local government started to repair a number of important roads that connect the different parties of the town amid complaints by passengers and business community. This is after they faced difficulties for transporting goods within the town.

Local government secretary Omar Mohamed Muse told to local press, they want to make the district business friendly.

August 8, 2015: at least three get killed when armed tribesmen clashed in one of Marka city neighborhoods. Tribesmen clashes became regular basis because of repeated dispute between two main tribes in the region.

August 11, 2015: President Sharif Sheikh Hassan with a large delegation visits the main city of Lower Shabelle, Marka. The state president went there to make evaluation on possibility of starting big projects in the city including seaport and airport.

August 12, 2015: South West state officials said high ranking Alshabab members and operatives who defected the organization have surrendered to State security forces.

Disarmament & rehabilitation minister Hssan Hussien speaking to VOA Somali Service said at least 100 of Alshabab fighters surrendered themselves to the State.

August 21, 2015: The African Mission in Somalia, AMISOM has offered its apologies to families in Somalia whose members were killed by AMISOM troops in Marka .

Speaking to the media in Nairobi, Maman Sidikou , the head of the mission said the incident was regrettable and that concrete measures will be taken to ensure AMISOM adheres to professional and international standards.

August 23, 2015: AMISOM mission started training security forces of South West state in Baidbo. The training with the duration of three months period is aimed to help security forces of the state cope security threats and challenges of Alshabab.

August 23, 2015: A meeting to discuss an initiative to employ female graduate organized by State officials, local government, and business community was held in main city of the state Baidabo to encourage employing female graduates.

Women employment is relatively very low in the private sector. Among the industries surveyed, education sector is the largest employer in Somalia, while the telecom is the lowest in terms of the percentage of women in the workforce.

August 24, 2015: Alshabab and Somali government forces engaged in life combat with each other in Lower Shabelle eyewitness told to Goobjoog News.

August 26, 2015: Somali president and large delegation of Somali Government paid a visit to Southwest State. They were received warmly by the State president Sharif Sheikh Hassan.

August 30, 2015: South West president Sharif Sheikh Hassan tours to the main cities and towns of the state to win the support of elders and the resident of these localities. He met the elders and religious leader for securing the support to his Administration.
