2 dead, 15 injured in grisly road accident

Two people died and 15 others were seriously injured in a grisly road accident on the outskirt of Dhusamreeb town along Mogadishu-Dhusamareeb road involving a Noah and bus Saturday afternoon .

Confirming the incident, Dhusamareb district commissioner Ahmed Mo’alin said the bus was headed to Dhusamareeb town from Mogadishu while the lorry was from Dhusamareeb when the accident took place.

“Two died and fifteen people have been also injured in this accident and where they were rushed to nearby hospitals in the town medical treatment,” said Mo’alin

“I urge drivers plying the Mogadishu-Dhusamareeb road to be wary of the spot where the accident occurred it has been marked as a black spot,”urged Moalim.

The mangled wreckages of the cars involved remained at the scene for some time as police recorded details of the crash.

The real cause of the accident is not yet clear, while authority’s investigations are still going on. Road accidents are common in Somalia, where highways lack safety features like guard rails or reflective paint.
