Two injured in grenade attacks on Police station in Jowhar

Two people have been injured in Jowhar town after unidentified men attacked a police station with hand grenades on Sunday night.

The victims who are civilians were taken to Jowhar Hospital, according witnesses.

“Some assailants threw hand grenades twice, injuring two others. The police reached the area and cordoned off for investigation,” said a resident who asked anonymity.

Witnesses said the hand grenades were hurled by unidentified group who disappeared after the incident.

“Assailants of unknown number have thrown two hand grenades into the police station, injuring two civilians who were sleeping a house next to the construction,” said one of the witnesses.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks but Al-Shabaab has in the past carried out such attacks.
