Two people arrested in connection with the death of an  Amisom soldier

Federal security forces arrested two individuals in Bula Burde, Hiran region following a mine attack that claimed the life of an Amisom solider from Djibouti and injured two others near the local airstrip.

Speaking to Goobjoog News, the local commissioner Mohamed Ahmed Roble noted the security operation conducted which the saw the arrest of 2 suspected persons.

Roble pointed out the two were being held in custody undergoing police interrogation and will soon be arraigned in a court of law.

“We arrested some people and now they are under custody. We shall present them in court when they undergo a thorough investigation. No innocent citizen will be violated against” added Roble.

He expressed that Amisom is paying ultimate price to see Somalia regain peace and stability.

 “The Amisom soldiers came to the country to offer their lives in order for us to overcome the security problem. The Djibouti soldiers came for the same as a brotherly token. One or two will die till this security menace will be eliminated” said Commissioner Roble.

An immediate security operation implemented netted the suspects who were found within the vicinity of the attack.

The explosion assumed to be an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted along the road linking the town to the airport.
