Ugas Mohamed Hanshi: Hundreds of families that fled from Sah-Der are in desperate conditions

The traditional elders who attended the inauguration ceremony of Katumo president Ali Khalif Galeyr called on the Federal government of Somalia and international aid agencies to deliver emergency support to the families who fled their houses during the fight between Somaliland and Katumo forces in Sah-Der.

Holding press conference in Mogadishu the elders  said that the displaced people are in desperate humanitarian conditions and are in need  of immediate help.

Ugas Mohamed Hanshi, one of the elders said the fight between the two forces in Sah-Der locality has affected hundreds of families mostly women and children, adding that the Federal government should take immediate action to end the hostilities in the region so as to spare the lives of the residents.

Somaliland forces have captured Sah-Der locality, the administrative seat of Katumo regional state, a time when the inauguration ceremony of Katumo president Ali Khalif Galeyr was going on in the locality.
