UN head in Somalia conveys message of goodwill as Ramadan starts

The officer in charge of the UN office in Somalia Raisedon Zenenga has conveyed his message of goodwill to Somalis as they start the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement to newsrooms, the UN official who is also the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia said the month of Ramadan was an important period for families to come together.

“On behalf of the entire United Nations family in Somalia, I extend best wishes for a peaceful holy month of Ramadan to Somalis in the country and around the world,” said Mr. Zenenga. “This is an important time in the year when families and communities can be together, reflect on what really matters in life, and offer their prayers and support for those who are less fortunate. It is also a time for healing and forgiveness.”

The Ramadan period started off today.
