Violence Erupts in Ethiopia behind of prominent artist killing

Anger demonstrators killed eight people, wound almost 97 others and burnt more five hundred homes following Haacaaluu Hundeessaa, a popular Ethiopian singer who was shot dead in the capital Ethiopia.

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed described the shooting death of musician Haacaaluu Hundeessaa “an evil act” said during he addresses the legislators on the current situation of the country.

“This is an act committed and inspired by domestic and foreign enemies to destabilize our peace and to stop us from achieving things that we started,” he added.

According to the State Police investigation, several suspects have been arrested and no further details, except that Haacaaluu was targeted.

Numerous Ethiopian towns erupted with fireworks in separate bomb blasts rocked the capital, Addis Ababa, killing several onlookers.
