We Shall Hold Reconciliation Conference End Month Says Banadir Governor

Banadir administration has announced the national reconciliation conference will take place at end of this month.

Governor Thabit Abdi Mohamed made the declaration during an event marking the construction of the General Kahiye Road indicating the time of holding the conference to be on the 28th January 2018.

Late December 2017, during a tour on Neighbourhood Security Program in Kahda location, Mogadishu the governor made the initial announcement of holding the meeting to take place on early January 2018 but his office indefinitely postponed the healing gathering due to what it was termed as a ‘technical issue’.

A week ago, a local umbrella civil society called Somali South Central Non-State Actors (SOSCENSA) appealed to the federal government to hold the reconciliation meeting in Mogadishu, Banadir state before the end of this month stressing on the importance of such gathering for Bandir residents and the entire Somalis.
