Federal trade and industry ministry has warned against any attempt to grab the now defunct land of Hides and Skins factory for the ministry located in Mogadishu and perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law.

Minister Mareeye warned people in a stern way against any attempt to claim the ownership of the factory land saying anyone found to be asserting as such will be placed behind bars. Instead he advised the squatters to leave the old factory.

“Land grabbing is initiated on the land of Hides and Skins factory in Dharkenley district, Mogadishu. This will not happen. We shall appoint lawyers to this effect and sue the grabbers. We shall put them behind bars. Let them vacate the government land. No one can give out national public plots belonging to my ministry” said minister Mareeye.

The minister said his ministry is planning to develop the plot to serve the public and expressed his determination to erect a centralized place for service delivery.

In his concluding remarks, he appealed to the Somali public to stay clear of national properties which belong to the Somali government.
