Two injured after Daalo Airlines plane caught fire

Daallo Airline jetliner caught fire as the airplane was departing from Adan Adde Airport in Mogadishu on Tuesday.

Flight D3159, travelling from Somalia to Djibouti, set ablaze just five minutes after taking off from Mogadishu Airport.

The pilot was forced to perform an emergency landing and the plane was left with an enormous hole in its side.

All 74 passengers and crew escaped the smoke and flames that quickly enveloped plane with two people minor injuries,

A Witness who spoke to Goobjoog News says prior to its take off, the plane was from Saudi Arabia carrying 212 Somalis deportees.

Passengers were evacuated from the plane using emergency slides, he said.

According to preliminary information, the plane’s right engine burst into flames on takeoff.

It was not immediately clear whether the two people said were taken to local hospitals were passengers or crew members.
