Storyline:National News

Residents of Hawadley locality have recovered three bodies that were found dumped along the southern bypass in the outskirt of Hawadley village in Middle Shabelle region.

A woman who was going to fetch firewood found the bodies and alerted elders of the village.

“I was going to collect firewood when I saw them lying on the ground,” said Halima Abdi.

Abdi said she immediately alerted local elders who later went to see the bodies.

Rashid Mohammed said that the two men and a woman could have been killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped at the scene.

One body was on top of the other and their necks were swollen.

“They appear to have been strangled and stabbed to death before their bodies were dumped near the area.

“The bodies are, however, yet to be identified,” he said.

Omar Farah Ali, another in Hawadley said that the deceased persons were not residents of the area.

The motive behind the murder of these people remains unknown though some sources say the killing of these people may have been facilitated by the recent clan clashes.
