7 Somaliland MPs elected in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Elections Management Committee of the northern regions of Somaliland has held elections for seven Lawmakers, including 3 female members today in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

HOP # 264 was won by Abdullahi Mohamed Abdi who received 85 votes with a show of hands, defeating his rival, Saadiya Mohamed Abdi.

Nuria Adan Isse won seat HOP#212 with 93 votes. Her rival, Farhiya Mohamed withdrew before the elections could commence.

The HOP#207 seat was won by Dr. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed with 97 votes, following the resignation of Hodan Ilyas Bashir.

Fadumo Ismail clinched seat HOP#242 with 95 votes. Her fellow contestant, Asia Abdirashid Farah, was eliminated from the race.

The HOP#258 seat was taken by Sahra Yusuf Egeh after she received 96 votes. Her rival contender, Amina Abukar Mohamed, withdrew from the race.

The election of HOP#224 was won by Aydaruus Salah Yusuf with 97 votes. His contendant, Hodo Salah Abdi withdrew from the race, giving Aydaruus an easy win.

HOP#246 was contested by Maryam Mohamed Nur and Nuradin Abdullahi Coljoog ( a journalist). Nuradin Abdullahi emerged winner with 96 votes while Maryam Mohamed Nur quit the race.
