Adan-Yabaal administration: Al-Shabab did not capture the town

The administration of Adan-yabaal district has refuted Al-Shabab claims saying the group took controlled of the areas following an attack on the town.

Speaking to Goobjoog news, Mohamud Sheikh Hussein, who is the district commissioner of Adan-Yabaal said the government administration still operates in the area.

“The claim of the groups is unfound and I can confirm to you that the town is still under the control Somali government” Hussein said.

He added ‘joint exercise by the AMISOM and the SNA leaderships will revitalize joint operations against Al- Shabab and further enhance security for Somali people to continue to go about their lives in peace, safety and security.”

Al-Shabaab claimed to have taken control of Adan-Yabaal town, according to  the radio Andalus broadcast.
