Al-shabaab executes 6 men for spying in Jilib district

GOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: Al-Shabaab has today killed six men by firing squad in a public square in Jilib district, Middle Juba region after they accused them of spying for the Somali government and the United States Intelligence.

Locals said they were forced by the group to watch the horrific massacre of the six civilians as a lesson to would-be betrayers of the organization.

The victims identified as Abdullahi Ali Ismail, Ismail Abduweli Osman, Hassan Garane Muse (Dr Ayuub), Abdirisaq Ise Ahmed “Maqas”, Shire Yusuf Khersi and Ahmed Muqtaar Adan were accused of spying for US, Somali and Kenyan intelligence agencies. 

Al-Shabaab has on several instances subjected it’s victims to public executions, particularly those they felt to be sell-outs.
