Al-Shabaab kidnapped two chiefs in Gedo region

Al-Shabaab fighters have kidnapped two village chiefs from Luuq district in Gedo of southwestern Somalia, government officials said.

According to Luuq district officials, Al-Shabaab kidnapped two chiefs from Shaatilow and Adil Ade villages located in the Gedo region Thursday.

It is unclear exactly where Al-Shabaab militias have taken the leaders but government soldiers in the region are currently on hot pursuit to rescue the officials.
