GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: Somali National Army clashed with Al-Shabaab militants Sunday in the outskirts of Dhusamareb in central Somalia resulting in casualties on both sides.

The Federal Government claimed that 19 militants were killed during the fight but Goobjoog News correspondent in the area put the number at five. Al-Shabaab militants were reportedly prospecting on  Haayow Village in the outskirts of Dhusamareb for a planned attack when they encountered SNA forces in the area, sources noted.

SNA suffered two fatalities, our correspondent adds. In a bizarre turn of events, Al-Shabaab fighters cut off the head of one of its commanders killed in the fight and went away with the head in a supposed cover of information.
