Al-shabab external operation leaders was killed in airstrike, US says

A top official leader of Al-Shabab was killed by U.S. drones in the southern part Somalia U.S. said on Tuesday.
Pentagon press secretary stated that Al-Shabab leader of external operation murdered in airstrike carried out by U.S Special Forces on Saturday.
He added that they are waiting the death confirmation of Yussuf Deeq though other U.S officials stated Deeq was killed.
The U.S. has been targeting the al-Shabab leadership in a series of strikes over the past few months. In late December, the Pentagon confirmed that a U.S. strike killed intelligence chief Tahlil Abdishakur, and the group’s previous leader, Ahmed Abdi Godane, was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Somalia on Sept. 1.
