Al-shabab claimed responsibility of Mandera quarry attack that left at least 36 workers dead in Koromei, 10 away from the district.
The spokesman of Al-shabab Sheikh Ali Mohamud Rageh statement earlier today, he said the attack at the quarry was part of string of attacked planned by the Mujahideen in retaliation against Muslims and the presence of Kenyan troops in Somalia.
“The latest attack was part of a series of attacks planned and executed by the Mujahideen, to serve as a response to Kenya’s occupation of Muslim lands and their ongoing atrocities such as the recent air strikes on Muslims in Somalia, which caused the death of innocent Muslims and the destruction of their properties and livestock as well as the continued suffering of Muslims in Mombasa.”
The government of Kenya has sent condolences to the families and relatives who lost their dear ones during the massacre in Mandera.
“The government said that investigations are underway to pursue the mastermind of the twin attacks in Mandera and Wajir” President’s spokesman Manoah Esipisu said in a statement.
On the other hand President Uhuru Kenyatta has summoned all top security officials to State House hours after 36 innocent quarry workers were killed in Mandera.
