GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The official signing ceremony of the electoral agreement reached into by Prime Minister Mohamed Roble and FMS leaders is set to kick off this afternoon.
The venue of the meeting at the airforce hangar within Aden Adde Airport is all set for the event which has been in waiting for about six months now.
The one week long talks in Mogadishu concluded Tuesday with virtually all the contentious issues resolved largely based on the Baidoa Framewor developed by a joint FMS-FGS Committee in February.
However the Somaliland question which stood out as one of the most contentious is yet to be resolved. But former presidents Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Sharif Sheikh Ahmed visited Senate speaker Abdi Hashi this morning and successfully convinced him to agree to the Federal Government offer. All sides-PM Roble, FMS leaders and Deputy prime minister Mahdi Guled have insisted that Hashi be entitled to only five slots in the appointment of the Federal and State level electoral committees.

According to the event timetable, the exercise was to kick off at 9am but was delayed to accommodate talks to convince Hashi climb down.
Hashi, who has been at loggerheads with outgoing President Mohamed Farmaajo is expected to speak in the event according to the timetable.
