Armed men kill Burhakaba district commissioner

The district commissioner of Buur-hakaba in Bay region Mohamed Abdi Maamow and two other officers were killed after armed men waylaid their convoy along Mogadishu Baidoa highway.

Other reports state that some of the bodyguards of the commissioner were killed during the attack.

The security officials who reached the reached say they are in hot pursuit of the attackers but no one was arrested so far.

Armed assailants regularly carry ambush government officials and security officers along the road connecting the major cities of Bay region and the capital city, Mogadishu.

No one claimed the responsibility of the attack.
