GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Police in Mogadishu’s Banadir region have reigned in on a man accused of sharing videos on a popular media app, TikTok, of him sexually assaulting young girls.

Police flushed out Hussein Hassan Gaabow on Sunday night at about 1.50 a.m., following a tip-off from members of the public about his whereabouts, according to the Deputy Commander of the Somali Police Force, Gen. Zakiye Hussein, who posted about the incident on her Twitter account.

The suspect, who is said to drug his victims before taking advantage of them, is set to face criminal sexual charges against minors once he is taken to court.

Gen. Zakiye thanked the community for sharing crucial information that led to the quick apprehension of the suspect, saying he will face the full arm of the law. She also urged members of the public to continue being vigilant and report such cases to ensure that criminals such as Gaabow do not have a place in society.
