Bardhere magistrate injured in an assassination attack

Bardhere magistrate Sheikh Ibrahim Noor Sha’ban has escaped an attempt on his life after he was attacked by unknown gunmen while wailing out a mosque after Magrib prayers.

The judge was slightly wounded in the attack by the assailants according Bardhere district commissioner.

Security forces cordoned the shooting site off and launched operations to pursue the perpetrators.

Bardhere, a key town in Gedo region has been under Al-shabab control for almost seven years before they were flushed out of the town by Somali and AMISOM troops in 2015.
