Breaking News: Ahlu Sunnah Forces Seize Guri El Town from Government

Fighters loyal to Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’a armed faction has taken over the town of Guri El in Galgadud from government troops who were controlling for the past two months.

Fierce fighting broke out in the out skirts of the town after the fighters from Ahlu Sunnah attacks government positions, then the fighting spread to the town forcing the government troops to abandon.

Our reporter in Dhusamareb says that government reinforcements were seen leaving Guri El from Dhusamareb, this is a clear indication that the hostilities is yet to finish.

Ahlu Sunnah had previously controlled the city before they were driven out in a fighting with the government forces.

This comes at a time when Central State formation is due to start next month and Ahlu Sunnah is a signatory to the process.
