Breaking News: Galgaduug Governor wounded in Mogadishu

Galgaduud governor, Hussein Ali Wehliye  Irfo was injured in drive-by-shooting while on his way to hotel  in Hamareyne of Mogadishu on Saturday.

The governor was immediately rushed to Madina Hospital for treatment.

Early last month, Federal lawmaker Mohamed Ahmed Gurhan was killed in a fatal drive-by-shooting on his way to parliament.

The lawmaker who was until his death a member of the Security and Interior Affairs committee of parliament died at a city hospital Saturday evening.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack but Al-Shabab which wants to topple the Western-backed government has in the past claimed responsibility for several assassinations carried out in Mogadishu.
