Breaking news: IGAD delegation arrives in Baladweyne

IGAD delegation led by IGAD’S special Envoy to Somali, Mohamed Abdi Affey on Tuesday arrived in Baladweyne town, central Somalia.

The six-man delegation will meet with government officials and other stakeholders in Hiraan region.

Addressing reporters at the airport, Affey has said that Inter-governmental authority on Development (IGAD)  is supporting Somalia’s peace progress by helping institutions as well as regional authorities.

Hiran clan elders pulled out of Jowhar convention in a reaction at nominees announced by interior ministry for the selection of delegates.
