Bulo-Burde DC: Ethiopians vacated Buq’aqable town for military strategy

Storyline:National News

The administration of Bulo-burde has commented on the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops from Buq-Aqable, a small town lying some 90km south of Baladweyn town, the headquarters of Hiraan region in central Somalia.

Bulo-Burde district commissioner Abdiaziz Durow said the troops have left the area for military tactics.

He pointed out that the troops from Bur’aqable are currently positioned at a location which is not far away from the small town.

“Ethiopian troops left Bur’aqable locality for military reason and now they are stationed in the outskirt of the town” said the commissioner.

Finally the DC urged AMISOM commanders and their troops not to leave the newly recaptured areas.

The Ethiopian troops who are part of the African Union mission in Somalia have on Sunday pulled out from Buq-Aqable location in Hiraan region in central Somalia as reports say Alshabab fighters have instantly taken over the vacated town.

This move is seen as a major military setback that can help Al-Shabab regroup and demoralize the local forces who paid heavy price for the recapture.

The African Union troops have this week pulled out from several locations in Somalia such as Kuntwarey, El-salindi, KM 60 and now Buq-Aqable.

In 2011, the militants were pushed out of Mogadishu and other major cities in Somalia by government forces and the AMISOM, which is mainly made up of troops from Uganda, Ethiopia, Burundi, Djibouti, Kenya and Sierra Leone.

The fighting game seems to be changing into tag of war as AMISOM troops drive away Al-Shabab from towns without further plans to stay in those recaptured areas.
